Kristen Matthews was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and has since lived in a number of places, including Scotland, England, and Spain.  She currently resides about an hour from Toronto Ontario, with her partner, three children, and several pets.  In addition to her artwork, Kristen works in Toronto as a certified prosthetist, designing and fitting artificial limbs.
